      Author Mary Hamilton will speak at Veteran's Memorial Auditorium February 24, 2015 at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $5 at the door or $10 for the season, all proceeds benefit the library's endowment fund. Mary Hamilton is an author and professional storyteller. In 1983, after brief careers as a high school English teacher and a public library children's librarian, Mary embraced professional storytelling. With her ever-expanding repertoire, Mary delights audiences throughout the USA. In 2009, the National Storytelling Network honored Mary with a Circle of Excellence Oracle Award.  Mary and her husband live on a Frankfort, KY hillside.  With a wooded view from the windows and frequent deer, groundhogs, squirrels, birds and other wildlife in the yard, Mary and Charles enjoy a peace-filled life.

    • Veteran's Memorial Auditorium
      Author Russ Walkup will speak at Veteran's Memorial Auditorium March 24, 2015 at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $5 at the door or $10 for the season, all proceeds benefit the library's endowment fund. Russ Walkup lived in the Marysville area during the 1970's and worked for the local school district.  He will visit Marysville again to share his book, An Appalachian Odyssey.  He says, "This book is a tribute to my parents who instilled in me a strong will to succeed.  The emphasis was on hard work and honesty.  The cultural differences I encountered could be compared to Homers' account of the Greek god, Odysseus.  My experiences could never measure up to the Cyclops but there were many challenges along the way". Walkup resides in Lexington, KY, with his wife.

       Author Alan St. Jean will speak at Veteran's Memorial Auditorium April 21, 2015 at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $5 at the door or $10 for the season, all proceeds benefit the library's endowment fund. Alan St. Jean was born in Pittsburgh, PA on Christmas Day, 1962. He grew up in central Ohio and attended The Ohio State University, graduating in 1985. Mr. St. Jean spent the first twenty years of his professional career in business and management when, in 2002, he made a life changing decision to pursue his true passion, which is a love for writing and teaching. A talented speaker, Mr. St. Jean spends much of his time visiting schools and teaching children about the writing process.

       Author Scott Trostel will speak at Veteran's Memorial Auditorium May 19, 2015 at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $5 at the door or $10 for the season, all proceeds benefit the library's endowment fund. Abraham Lincoln's 1,904 mile journey from Illinois, through southwestern Ohio, to Washington, D.C. for his inauguration is fully detailed by nationally noted history author, Scott Trostel.  Trostel's book about the Lincoln Funeral Train is an acclaimed and sought-after book detailing the first national funeral for an assassinated president. In Trostel's most recent book about the inaugural train, he covers the epic journey to Washington with many new details.

The Friends of the Marysville Public Library is a separate non-profit 501(c)(3) organization,
established to support the library and its mission in the community.
